O secretário municipal de Desenvolvimento, Israel Alfonso, o assessor da secretaria, João Cesar Ferreira, e a gerente municipal de Turismo, Maria Carolina Pereira, visitaram as obras de reforma da Casa Nicolau Zarvos, ao lado da Catedral de Santo Antônio, e a construção da Casa da Árvore, no Horto Florestal, investimentos feitos com aporte financeiro do governo do Estado, por meio da Secretaria Estadual de Turismo e Prefeitura, resultantes da classificação de Lins como Município de Interesse Turístico (MIT), em 2017. “Estas e os monumentos escultórios são as primeiras conquistas de Lins enquanto MIT, e muito mais está por vir”, afirmou o secretário Israel.
Ainda, seguindo as diretrizes do Plano Diretor do Turismo, com validação do Conselho Municipal do Turismo, outros projetos importantes foram aprovados na Secretaria Estadual de Turismo: revitalização do Portal do Centenário da Imigração Japonesa, popularmente conhecido como rua Japonesa (trecho entre o calçadão Tancredo Neves e a rua Quinze de Novembro), construção do monumento em homenagem aos Cem Anos de Lins e a elaboração e implantação da sinalização turística do município.
“No total, serão liberados R$ 1.355,384,92 em convênios do MIT e isto é uma grande conquista para o turismo da nossa cidade, pois vai gerar empregos e renda para a população”, afirmou o prefeito Edgar de Souza. (com informações da assessoria de imprensa da Prefeitura)
